At CRC 2026, we are committed to incorporating sustainable practices and initiatives that extend beyond mere slogans and lead to tangible accomplishments. We strongly believe that each of us has a responsibility to safeguard the future for generations to come, both on a local and global scale. With this in mind, we are purposefully planning CRC 2026 with sustainability at the forefront. Our commitment to the environment extends to every aspect of the event, encompassing not only the organizing team and committees but also our partners and delegates.
By prioritizing sustainability, we aim to create a greener future for our planet and promote the well-being of everyone involved in the CRC 2026.
How You Can Contribute as a CRC 2026 Delegate
Sustainability is a shared responsibility. We encourage delegates to support environmentally conscious practices during CRC. Some simple ways to contribute include:
• Using the CRC 2026 mobile app to access the program instead of printing materials • Choosing sustainable transportation options when travelling to and around Philadelphia • Reducing waste and using recycling facilities where available • Bringing or using reusable bottles and mugs whenever possible
Small actions by many can create a meaningful collective impact, helping us deliver an unforgettable meeting that is both scientifically enriching and environmentally responsible.
CRC 2026 and the Sustainable Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs, also called the Global Goals) are 17 goals with 169 targets that all UN Member States have agreed to work toward achieving by 2030. They set out a plan for a world without poverty, hunger, and disease. We at CRC 2026 want to contribute to the achievement of these objectives in our value chain. We support and work toward the following SDGs:
GOAL 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
Here’s what we are doing:
• Seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients: All food offered to our participants will be made from seasonal ingredients sourced from local and regional suppliers. • Vegetarian Meal Options: We will provide a variety of vegetarian meal choices, promoting sustainable food practices. • Walking around the city: Philadelphia has been recognized as one of the most walkable cities in the United States. We encourage you walk whenever possible.
GOAL 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all
At CRC 2026, we’re dedicated to elevating accessible, top-notch education for our community.
As we prepare for the congress in Philadelphia, our commitment includes:
• Enhancing the scientific program • Addressing gender disparities • Ensuring a lasting educational experience for all participants
Goal 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
The Pennsylvania Convention Center has clear sustainability goals related to energy and has upgraded and modernized their light system, implemented energy management and climate control systems, and installed low-flow faucets.
